Cards for a difficult subject

Had a go today at making some " Thinking of you" and " In Sympathy" cards. It's not an easy subject to make cards for but I thought if I kept them nice and simple it would be fine. I had some plain white card blanks from Kanban with a deckled edge, which I thought would be ok, then I embossed several different folders onto pearlescent paper that's not too over the top but gives a slight shimmer. I then mounted them onto silver mirri card just leaving a slight border.

I then took some plain white ribbon and on each card wrapped it round either the card itself or round the embossed panel and just tied a knot. On the computer I typed out the sentiments and then mounted them onto the silver mirri card as well. I'm very pleased with how they have come out.

The last of the three !!

Wow what lovely weather, too nice to be indoors. Well have managed to finish the last of what I call the set of three. This one is slighlty bigger than the other two as needed  bit more room to fit in that lovely roll top bath !! I would love one of those in my bathroom !

This is the three together in a set, I think they tell a story really going from "Time for Tea" to "Relax and Enjoy " to "Oh so Stylish" .

Some more frames !

After a busy weekend of gardening and putting up a trampoline for the kids, which they love, I then got back to the usual weekday jobs, when I had finished my jobs for the day yesterday I found some spare time to craft. Had a rumage round in my stash and found some left over bits from kits, so after adding these to some frames I came up with the following

This was decorated with a kit from Kanban with the swirls stamped onto the white inside the frame.
The next two are from a Hunkydory kit, and I have used silicone glue to make the different elements pop out at you, have got one more to make, bought another frame today, and then they can be used individually or maybe as a set of three.

Baby makes

Have been working on these all week, fitting them in around housework, dog walking and the school run !. Had seen a project in the Creativity Magazine from DoCrafts so decided to have a go and do something similar but different ! Got two small canvases and painted with acrylic paints, stamped a few shapes on the background that are quite subtle, the paper ribbons and letters are from a Crafter's Companion Cd, and of course the bears are from the Forever Friends, very pleased with the result, it's nice to do other projects with paper other than cards.

This is a quick card made today for a friend who's just had a little boy.

Workshop makes

Today i've been to my friend Ruth 's who is  a demonstrator for Stampin ' Up ( she makes fab cards) to do a workshop with the French Foliage set of stamps. These are great stamps to work with and also work very well for more masculine cards, we all played around with the colours and  I came home with some great makes.

This next one is my absolute favourite of all the makes.

I have kindly been given the Liebster blog award by Marlene at cardsbymarlene.blogspot.com and would like to award it to 5 more bloggers, I will leave you a link on your page when I have done it but here's what you do
The idea of the award is to spread the love from one small blog(under 200 followers). this helps to spread the knowledge and leadership.
To accept the award
1) Link back to the person who gave it to you and thank them for thinking of you.
2)Post the award to your blog.
3)Give the award to 5 bloggers tolet them know you have chosen them for the award.
Liebster in German means 'dearest' to carry this tradition on I'm going to chose 5 bloggers who's work I like and admire.

Something different !

Decided to do something different today and decorate a plain white frame that I had. I used Papermania Capsule papers to decorate the frame adding peel off's to the corners. On the inside I stamped swirls on the inside frame, backed it with some embossed card, then die cut a swirl shaped stalk in plain pink and then used capsule papers and the plain pink to die cut the flowers. I'm rather pleased with the result and it was great to try something a little bit different.

Another batch of quick cards

Here are another few quick cards I made today using some Hot off the Press papers I found in my stash.
Again kept them nice and simple.

Quick card Friday

Wow Friday already, where has the week gone ???  Have had it confirmed that I have a stall at the local craft fair in April and May, so thought i'd better get some more cards made. Decided today to go for the quick card option , made a set of 5 thankyou notelets, using some Stampin' up stamps, just kept them nice and simple.

Just using the black ink on white card with just a splash of colour works well.

More of the mice

While waiting for Dan to got to sleep last night I thought i'd make some more mice cards , using the Nitwit stamps and papers. These images are so cute and the papers co-ordinate beautifully.
Again I stamped them and coloured with pro-markers then backed them with some of the papers and then
attached to a shaped card. I then added the little embelishments to finish them off.

I can see that there may be a few more of these being made !!

Miss Mouse

Decided before I went shopping today I would have a quick craft, I'd had these Nitwit Papers free with a magazine, so thought I would give them a go and make a twisted easel card with them.  I stamped the image and coloured with pro-markers and then built up the card using different elements. I'm really happy with the result . I've entered it in the Creativity Challenge over on Docrafts, as when I looked at their challenge for this week (after already making the card) the layout of the challenge was so similar, spooky !!
Hope you like it.

These were made with Papermania Birthday Papers and then decorated with small rosettes and the word party stamped on to a scalloped circle, the bunting and the circle's were also edged with ink.

Wow I've finally decided to have a go at blogging , so we'll see how I go with it.
